About the School
Since 1981, Creative Dance Center has been at the forefront of dance education. Your support of the Creative Dance Center means our outreach to the community grows deeper and reaches families, children, teens, and adults from all walks of life, making the transformative power of dance accessible to all. Your donation to CDC means Kaleidoscope Dance Company continues to delight children in local elementary schools, audiences throughout the Northwest, and internationally. Thanks to your financial contribution, the BrainDance and brain-based teaching methods are shared near and far as participants come from all over the world to the Summer Dance Institute for Teachers. As a non-profit organization, Creative Dance Center and Kaleidoscope Dance Company only continue to exist and grow with the support of donors like you!
The Jesse Jaramillo Scholarship Fund honors Seattle dancer, choreographer, and movement educator Jesse Jaramillo. This year, Jesse's Scholarship Fund allowed a diverse population of men and boys to attend a FREE workshop on masculinity facilitated by Vincent Thomas.
You may also choose to support the Anne Green Gilbert (AGG) Endowment Fund, created to benefit children and adults in their pursuit of physical, intellectual, and spiritual growth through dance. Anne Green Gilbert, internationally recognized and pioneering dance educator and author, founded the Creative Dance Center and Kaleidoscope Dance Company in 1981.

As we move into the future, we continue to grow and develop the classes, workshops, outreach, and professional development opportunities that our community has come to expect from us over the past 37 years. We believe that dance can sharpen the minds, touch the hearts, strengthen the bodies, and nurture the creativity of children and adults alike.
Last year we began building our relationship with Mary’s Place, an amazing organization dedicated to empowering homeless women, children, and families in reclaiming their lives. This year we are excited to:
- continue providing free dance opportunities at CDC
- bring creative dance to families and children at the new Mary’s Place in The Regrade facility
- offer free dance camps for school aged children during school breaks
Thanks to you, CDC teachers share their passion and expertise, providing an environment where parents, children, and families have a chance to get some time away from the stress they are experiencing. We cannot do this important work without your support.
Dance does not distract us from the complexity of life, it deepens understanding, opens hearts and minds, builds resiliency, and inspires hope.
When you give, the contribution you make to the Creative Dance Center enables us to continue building on the foundation of the past 37 years. The Annual Giving campaign is our largest and most important fundraiser. It may be that your employer can match your tax-deductible donation, doubling your contribution to CDC. You can choose to support the Creative Dance Center, the Anne Green Gilbert (AGG) Endowment Fund, or the Jesse Jaramillo Scholarship Fund. Other ways you can support CDC include attending Kaleidoscope Dance Company performances and participating in our annual Chance for Dance drawing held every Spring. CDC also participates in Give BIG, a one-day online giving event that inspires people to give generously to nonprofit organizations who make our region a stronger, more vibrant community for all.
Your generous gift to Creative Dance Center, the AGG Endowment Fund, and/or the Jesse Jaramillo Scholarship Fund ensures the continued growth of our organization, sustaining the exceptional work you have come to expect. Thank you!
